Pay a compliment. You'll feel great for it...but not nearly as great as they'll feel. Learn something new and exciting. Explore things you've never thought of doing or trying. Wow--what a stress buster! Get lost in a great book. My wife's favorite. Slipping out of your world and into another is one of the easiest ways of stress management there is. Treat family to a really great movie. See the book above. Same great escapism, same wonderful stress relief effects. Reply to your emails same day. Ugh--a stacked email box is your fastest road to stress. Clean it out daily and watch your stress levels drop dramatically. Do something/anything one time only. Go crazy with this one. Take an exotic trip. Go skydiving. Audition for the local theatre group. Just do anything you've never done before! Accept yourself just as you are. Self realization is the road to happiness. The sooner you like yourself, the better you'll feel. Buy a present -- just because. From the "do unto others" file. Or better yet, but something for yourself. After all, you deserve it--right? Give the first flower of spring. You'll feel refreshed and rejuvenated when you see their eyes light up. First day of fresh snow, go skiing. One of the most exhilerating feelings there is--plowing through fresh untouched powder! Do that promised home improvement. You know you want to...take an afternoon and finish that project. You'll feel great afterwards. Have yourself a really good cry. A favorite of ladies everywhere. Go to the movie store, bring home a few tear jerkers (Beaches comes to mind) and let it pour. Vastly underrated as a stress relief tip. Next time say, "No charge." If you're a business owner, this one is real winner. And you'll get a customer for life with it. Do the work you love. A big one in my book. If you're unhappy with that you're doing, go do something you're passionate about. And yes, the money will find you. Finish that important project. Procrastination is the backbone of stress. Break it in half by doing what you need to do--NOW! Wear only comfortable shoes. Little known, but highly effective. A great pair of shoes can literally make your day. Buy that sweater you really want. Ladies, are you listening? Give yourself an excuse to splurge. You'll feel lots better! Enjoy a brand new day; a fresh start. Wake up with this thought in mind, and you're well on your way to a stress free day--guaranteed! That's just a few--there's lots more out there. You just gotta go find them. But take 5 of these stress relievers and do them today. Then see how you feel when you go to bed tonight. My guess would be relaxed and ready for a great night's sleep! |
